Description

The listing is for a G Serial Safari purchased in June 2010 from San Francisco AD. Received additional year of warranty which expired June 2013. The watch was recently returned from Service from Taiwan AP Boutique and has been unworn since. The watch is in brand new condition, there are no scuffs, or hairlines. 📖 About This Reference

The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore reference 26170ST represents a pivotal chapter in the evolution of AP s most iconic sports watch collection. Introduced as part of the Offshore lineage that first shocked the horological world in 1993, this 42mm stainless steel iteration embodies the collection s bold philosophy while maintaining the distinctive octagonal bezel architecture that has defined Royal Oak DNA since Gerald Genta s revolutionary 1972 design. The 26170ST carries forward the Offshore tradition of pushing boundaries in luxury sports watchmaking, offering collectors a substantial presence on the wrist while preserving the refined finishing and attention to detail that distinguishes Audemars Piguet from Le Brassus. At its heart beats the manufacture Caliber 2385, an automatic movement that demonstrates AP s commitment to in-house horological excellence. This self-winding mechanism showcases the brand s technical prowess through its robust construction and reliable timekeeping capabilities, engineered to withstand the demands of an active lifestyle while maintaining the precision expected from a haute horlogerie manufacture. The movement s architecture reflects decades of refinement in automatic winding systems, contributing to the watch s impressive power reserve and operational smoothness. The white dial provides optimal legibility against the substantial 42mm stainless steel case, while the fixed octagonal bezel maintains the iconic Royal Oak aesthetic language through its precisely finished surfaces and bold geometric presence. From a collectibility standpoint, the 26170ST occupies a significant position within the Royal Oak Offshore hierarchy, representing an accessible entry point into AP s premier sports watch collection without compromising on manufacturing quality or design integrity. The combination of stainless steel construction, substantial sizing, and distinctive Offshore character appeals to collectors seeking both wearability and investment potential. The sapphire crystal and 50-meter water resistance underscore its sports watch credentials, while the overall execution reflects Audemars Piguet s uncompromising standards in finishing and assembly. This reference demonstrates particular strength in the secondary market due to its versatile aesthetic, robust construction, and the enduring appeal of the Royal Oak Offshore concept among contemporary collectors.

Unique in the Ulysse Nardin Modern Era: Cal UN 160.
A movement dedicated to only one watch, the 160. Replaced a few years after by the Cal 118. Only 1000 made, 500 in white gold, 500 in rose gold. Historical. Best, Nicolas
