Watch Condition:

Model:: 1815 - Manual Wind 18kt Yellow Gold
Description:: The most classical, simple & elegant dress watch by Lange. The "1815" series is dedicated to Mr. Adolph Lange (founder of the company) & the year he was born
This watch features:
Silver colored solid silver dial with painted Arabic Numeral hour markers & Blue Hands.
  • Small Seconds sub-dial located at the bottom of the dial.
    The movement has 21 jewels & beats at 21,600 vph. The movement has an aproximate power reserve of 45 hours.
    Case Material:: 18kt Yellow Gold
    Case Size:: 35.9mm
    Case Thickness:: 7.5mm
    Case Back:: Transparent
    Dial Color:: Silver
    Movement:: Manual Wind
  • This watch was purchased in Germany in 2007 and has been worn infrequently (I am the second owner). The watch comes with all of the original inner/outer boxes, booklets, and of course, the original warranty card (AD stamped) and other assorted paperwork. The brown leather strap is in excellent condition and the watch has the original Lange 18k buckle. It makes the perfect dress watch being only 7mm thick while the dial design is versatile enough for casual wear. The movement's remarkable finish can only be found in Lange watches and can be viewed through the sapphire crystal back. Original retail was $11,300 (but again, these watches are not readily available in the marketplace).

    This model has been discontinued and is rarely offered for sale in such excellent pre-owned condition. In fact, this watch has become a collector's item.  I am sorry, but I do not have pictures of the watch at this time. The bezel has some hairline scratches, but otherwise, is in fanastic condition. If you so desire, I can supply you with the name of an amazingly talented watchmaker who can make the watch look like new.

    The watch is keeping accurate time and winds/sets beautifully. I'm asking $7,300 plus $50 shipping. Sorry, but I cannot ship internationally. Thanks and feel free to e-mail me at [Email address suppressed for privacy] if any questions.

    Best regards,

    Marc

    📖 About This Reference

    The A. Lange & Söhne 1815 Manual Wind reference 206.021 is a watch that strips fine watchmaking to its purest essence. Named for the birth year of founder Ferdinand Adolph Lange, the 1815 collection pays direct tribute to the man who brought precision watchmaking to the town of Glashuette in Saxony and, in doing so, created one of the great horological traditions. In 18kt yellow gold with a silver dial, the 206.021 is classical in the most profound sense -- not nostalgic or backward-looking, but grounded in principles that transcend fashion. At 35.9mm, this is a watch scaled to historical proportions, and it wears with the elegant restraint that characterized the finest pocket watch conversions of the early twentieth century. The silver dial is clean and uncluttered: railroad-style chapter ring, blued steel hands, Arabic numerals in the distinctive A. Lange & Söhne typeface, and a subsidiary seconds dial at six o'clock. The manually wound caliber L941.1 within provides 45 hours of power reserve and is finished with the same care lavished on the manufacture's most expensive complications. The 1815 Manual Wind is often described as the purist's entry into the A. Lange & Söhne universe, and the 206.021 in yellow gold validates that description completely. There are no outsize dates here, no moonphases, no chronograph pushers -- just hours, minutes, and seconds, displayed with impeccable clarity and powered by a movement that embodies everything beautiful about the hand-wound mechanical watch. It is a reminder that watchmaking at its highest level is not about complexity but about execution, and A. Lange & Söhne's execution here is beyond reproach.
