I was with the guy who taught me how to service watches, and we were visiting another watchmaker's shop in town. I saw it in his used watches case, asked to see it closer, asked the price ... was told $500 which seemed fair and said "I'll take it." Both t...  

Unfortunately not many people still understand the honourable way to strike a deal. You can make friends for life.
