That's right, interesting point...At a quick search I have found at least three 3646 with this dial configuration, two sold by Antiquorum and one by Christie's in recent years (different case numbers, hence different watches).

All of these dials look totally off to me, in a way that seems too odd to only depend on the pictures. I am no Panerai expert, and we are speaking of watches that are 75 to 80 years old, but were they originally produced like this? Strange but quite inter...

Panerai’s very first dials were mainly made of plastic layers and warped badly. Panerai developed aluminium Sandwich dials to overcome this problem.
