IWC in new Bruce Willis & Morgan Freeman movie RED

October 14, 2010 – Renowned Swiss watch manufacturer IWC Schaffhausen sees red in the new film from Summit Entertainment and D.C. Comics, starring Bruce Willis, John Malkovich, and Academy Award Winners Morgan Freeman, and Helen Mirren.

Operation: RED Hot

IWC shows its face—twice—in the new Summit Entertainment and D.C. Comics film RED

Based on the cult D.C. Comics graphic novels by Warren Ellis and Cully Hamner, RED is an action-comedy about retired CIA agents, who realize retirement may not be ready for them just yet. The film hits theaters nationwide on October 15th, and patrons will find IWC watches on the wrists of both Bruce Willis and Morgan Freeman. Willis wears the rugged Pilot's Watch Mark XVI Automatic in stainless—a direct descendent of the Mark XV, while Freeman sports the stylish Portuguese Automatic Chronograph in stainless steel with a black dial and black alligator strap. The Mark XVI is one of the smallest from the Pilot’s Watch family and its 39-millimeter diameter and clean dial make it look perfectly balanced. With a tradition stretching back to the precision nautical instruments used by seafarers discovering the earth, embossed Arabic numerals, and feuille hour and minute hands on the Portuguese Chronograph convey its earned prestige within the IWC arsenal.

For more than a century, IWC Schaffhausen has set standards in the technological development of highly complicated luxury timepieces. Founded in 1868, the International Watch Company has acquired a global reputation as a tradition-rich Swiss watch manufacturer with its passion for brilliant inventions, innovative solutions and technical sophistication.
