Is your wife's Montblanc star lady the one with a Mother of pearl dial? It looks very nice on your pic

It's always special to give a present to our loved ones to mark special occasions. Bravo!

Cheers

We have been discussing the 1858 collection a lot lately. And of course, the Villeret collection and Nicolas Rieussec and some of the newer TimeWalkers. It is good to review the roots of Montblanc watch making, even before they had any in-house manufactur...

It is a credit to the MB watchmaking division

That the first one is so appealing! Lots about it to love, and they started with a unique piece. Not just a retreaded version of another established watch.

It was their first baby step

And now with Jerome leading they are growing stronger each year Thanks Michael for your feedback and insights

On the brink of elite.

I'm thinking / hoping that Montblanc is on the brink of greatness in the high end watch world. MB has a lot of pieces to work with, especially the Minerva acquisition. M4

With their Villeret collection and movements

I believe they have a lot of potential And being an owner of their watches (I have 3 Montblanc watches), of course I hope the same as you

Lol! Getting old

Have to say I prefer it in steel in this case...

Thanks, I like the guilloche dial and the pearl MB crown, indicative of a limited edition by MB.

It's a little small by "today's" standards. Rgds Raymond

Does that make me a 'vintage' guy? I even remember where I was in the UK. Those were the days when the current Mrs MTF and I collected pens but not watches. We did not start on watches until 1999. Thanks for the memories. Regards, MTF

Lol vintage guy MTF

My second "nice" watch purchase happened to be a Montblanc XL Star Chrono which was bought around 2004 or 2005 at the boutique here in NYC. Its funny because the watch is an XL model but it's only 38 or 39 mm's. I really liked it but needed the funds to b...

I have never seen or heard of this one Tony

But I know it was the same movement that was used in GP's and Panerai's alarm watches. It not the greatest sounding alarm. JLC, Breguet/Blancpain's are much better. The watch is still really cool looking though. Tony

Thanks for the additional info
