IMHO If you want to buy a new watch, take it from the offical boutique, or shop. That's the clear way ! anything else (perhaps) makes trouble...

There are scammers everywhere due to the willingness of people to wire large sums of money buy watches online. IMO the sum you save is not worth the potential headaches. There are some reputable sellers online but these days AD's are willing to offer good...

although the online site also has an office where you can go to view the timepiece by appointment, i was worried that the AD stamp could be a fake and another dealer would not assist me if i have future problems. what is the normal AD discount one can get...

That's not worth the risk. I get a bigger discount than that from my AD. I think building a relationship as a client and supporting the notion that this won't be the last watch you will buy from them can loosen things up considerably!
