Clavi is correct. He does wear a Rolex, or so said Cigar Magaazine. It must be an old one too, described thusly in a different article - "The Dalai Lama has busy hands, the left adorned with an agate string of prayers beads and a well worn wristwatch." It must have been a gift, as a living god of less modest means would surely wear a JLC Reverso.
