JLC presents the H?bner Limited Edition

 By: Spiros : July 1st, 2006-10:10
JLC presents a unique set of watches to celebrate the 70 years of successful cooperation with Uhrmachermeister Rudolf H?bner. The history As we all know, Jaeger-LeCoultre is a manufacture with a very rich history and a continuous presence in the world of ...

Hmmm..... great, but a shame too >>

Being a sucker for black dials, I r-e-a-l-l-y like these. I have to also say (IMHO), the Huebner Hometime is SUCH an improvement on the mess the dial layout was before. It's a real shame they won't be series pieces. I'm not too happy about nonsense L.Es l...

The black dial master 8 days is identical to cellini's special edition run

a few years go. So these "dealer ordered" special edition may not be true "limited" run. Nick

So, is the new Hometime layout ONLY in this LE. form....?

... I would be pretty upset to buy this one only to find that twelve months later it becomes 'series'. If it's guaranteed a true LE and will never appear as a series layout I'm all for it. Looks like JLC's 5134. Velociphile

from what i know, JLC never promised that these dealer ordered "limited"

edition pieces will never be available again, either as another "limited" run or serial production run. Nick1458

According to what I was told...

JLC has promised never to produce the exact same watches for anyone else. If they start playing with case materials - different dials that's a different issue, but never the exact same watches. Otherwise it would never make sense to buy a LE watch. Best r...

Hi Nick...

PG/HT is aesthetically pleasing,

to me. The case size is more in line with my taste as well. Can you give us the rest of the specs? Thanks.

Could you please clarify?

Which additional specifications are you referring to? Best regards, Spiros

Hometime - can somebody tell me please ...

 By: HerrK : July 3rd, 2006-07:07
... what is the use of the skeletonised hourhand on the main dial, when you can read the hour of the hometime in the 24-hours subdial anyway. To me it seems to be redundant.

I understand your point...

 By: Dje : July 4th, 2006-04:04
Hi Yes in terms of pure rationale you may be right! In the meantime IMO the 24h subdial helps balance the dial, and makes it stand from a simple three hands dial (it's a matter of difference and personal taste, so you may not like it though). Furthermore ...

Jerome, you are absolutely right concerning the balance of the hometime dial ...

 By: HerrK : July 4th, 2006-05:05
... but the skeletonised hour hand is nevertheless redundant. Personally I do not like Regulators much but for the balance of the dial I would prefer doing away with the skeletonised hour hand. Regarding the Regulator effect: as far as I know for some tim...

Some level of colouration may assist....

By: Velociphile - No longer in the building : July 4th, 2006-06:06
.... but do you split between a.m./p.m. 0000h-1200h 1200h-0000h or day/night 0600h-1800h 1800h-0600h Velociphile

Sorry, I do not get this ...

 By: HerrK : July 4th, 2006-06:06
... I think we are talking about the Hometime LE with a 24h subdial for the hometime. You can read the hometime on that 24h subdial with no nead for an additional am/pm, day/night etc indication. Christian

What I meant was....
