JLC Navy Seals...hype or real watches?
Hi guys...
Yesterday I got WatchTime April's issue and in the Readers' Forum there are two comments related with two pieces of this JLC collection:
The first one (by Russell Ascott) exposes a very sad situation about a JLC Navy SEALs Alarm: issues with the crown and the bezel.
The second one (by Scott Dong) talks about the large rage variations that were obtained from a Navy SEALs and reported on WatchTime December's issue. By the way, at the end of the comment, the author says: Perhaps we should "Send in the SEALs" with a Rolex Sub instead; precisely the Rolex Sub is tested in April's issue and got 7 in Rate Results, the same number the JLC NS got in December issue...probably your army has to give a chance Blancpain's Fifty Fathoms, jee
So...I have some questions:
1. The 1,000 hours Master Control is just focused on the movement, that's why external issue can happen?
2. According to the JLC's manuals, this Control is more strict or demanding than COSC, but according to this test and my experience (I own a NS), caliber 899 should be improved. Do you recommend me to send it my watch in order to improve their rate? I don't have a machine to measure variations precisely, but my perceptions is that my watch performs very similar than the watch tested by WatchTime team. Or...it's caliber 899 normal performance?
3. I have heard and read may negative comments about this collection, do you think JLC should reconsider their continuance?
Regards,
Clorio
