From what Dje has posted sometime ago on the EWA:

"But you get more this time. Instead of the traditional case back fixed gong you get a special secret alloy gong that surrounds the whole movement and is fixed by two pins to the case middle. " click here

This would be something like "sonnerie".

I'm no expert, but It would seem that the hammer strikes the circular gong directly sideways, as the gong surrounds the movement, afixed to the case.

Compare the hammer position in both of Dje's pictures to see the amplitude of its movement. I suppose that the sprung lever associated with it serves to block the hammer.






Is this correct?
