Flaunting

Yes, I totally agree with the showing off part. It totally spoils the image in Asian countries. I travel to China for business every 2-3 months, at the airport and on the plane i'd seen many rich Chinese wearing their Full Diamonded Date Just with their trousers rolled up to their knees exposing the leg hair, yelled loudly and there was one actually farted next to me!!

There was this guy introduced by my supplier, he wanted a Rolex, I showed him my date just (16233 w/o diamond, plain) which i kept in the box for 4 years, and told him i could sell to him, but he said there was no diamond, fine. 3 months later i met him again, he was wearing Nike track suit from top to bottom, Nike sneakers of course, pulled up to his shins, and he was wearing a full diamond date just and proudly telling me he bought it for US$10k.

Many businessmen in Hong Kong, Malaysia, China mainland, Taiwan see Rolex the ultimate watch to wear, even the hong kong movies joked about the importance of having a 'Gold Rolex' when going back to hometown or meeting friends.

I sold my Rolex and not intend to get one anymore. I like Rolex especially submariners, but as a Chinese myself, i felt embaressed everytime i tried to put it on.
