Early Aquatimer 812
Helping a friend go through some “old watches”. Loving this early 812. The watch runs and both crowns function as they should, but neither of them screws down. Does anyone know if this is correct for the model? Seems that the bottom crown should screw dow...

the super compressor case patented by ervin piquerez (epsa) in1956 till 1975 did have screwdown crowns
modified versions were made by some brands. this model does have them.an easy way to check is to inspect with a loupe to look for the screw threads below the crowns.
Took a closer look.
Got out the loupe and I don’t see any evidence of threads. The top crown doesn’t even pull out. You can turn it freely to adjust the inner bezel. The bottom crown does pull out to adjust the time and date.
