does the Portugieser Perpetual Calendar 42 IW344203 have a fatal flaw with respect to moonphase?

I just visited IWC Boston and saw thia watch in person and was told about how easy it is to set - "just use the crown in position 1, and everything moves in sync until you get to the year and date you want"

But there was no clear answer for how you get the moonphase correct - since the moonphase on any given date in one year is not the same as on the same date in another, you have to be able to set moon phase independently.

A quick check of the owners manual shows this, which isn't reassuring.  Am I missing something? (sorry for the large font - couldn't figure out how to paste in the body font)

IWC sets the moonphase display so that it displays the full and new moon precisely on as many dates in the year as possible.
