Why do watch manufacturers do this? Why would they place the lug holes of the spring bar so far from the case that there’s a space between the case and strap?

Is there a solution to fix this other than purchasing a thick strap?

My solution

is to order curved end straps, and install them with the straight bars. It works a wonder on Rolex, and avoids straps being eaten by the case.

The watch itself is and looks awesome but the gap between the lugs and the case gets me paying the attention more to the gap than the dial.

To me, that’s an unsightly gap. I would think they would have used a curved strap spring bar pin to make it look less noticeable like on my Flyback. ...
