Independents

The Signature 1 production is interesting with more variance across the production run and 33 stainless than is really known. I've been trying to see if I can catalogue all 66+ in my spare time....

For the stainless steel there are officially 33 watches, 11 each in 3 variants:

11 Silver movement, anthracite dial, blued screws

11 Rose Gold movement, Anthracite dial, silvered screws

11 USA edition, 2 tone Black and Silver movement Blue dial, blued screws

The one commonality across the 33 stainless Signature 1's and all stainless GF watches is the red tick at the 11 minute tick mark. However, within the 33 there are some variances. Eastern Arabic dials, lumed hands, and because GF offered bespoke after sales services I believe at least one of the rose gold plated pieces was "upgraded" to a platinum case. Further, even within similar watches I've seen some variances like a dial center that has a subtle circular graining vs the more often seen satin matte. It's said that Didier cut all the gears and performed the Dufouresque waves along with other parts of production so there was a desired consistency of manufacture and I expect any variances then are intentional rather than accidental.

Side note, the S1 came with a pin buckle with stamped GF branding but a matching stainless deployant is available and has a hand engraved GF logo:

Stainless steel in general isn't a frequently used material by GF. 33 S1, 11 Balancier US edition, and 44 Balancier contemporain. I've seen a stainless Tourbillon Vision so there maybe be a few more out there but hard to tell, maybe around 100 stainless watches total.
