three dimensions to a watch
After literally hundreds and hundreds of watches seen at Basel Fair, the Only Watch of MB&F struck us with its three dimensions. And saying dimensions, I mean here the three aspects that make up a truly great watch to me. The first dimension being the aesthetical one - when the timepiece is harmonious, one simply cannot take his eyes off it, and the watch provokes a great desire to contemplate and observe it in all its details. The second aspect is rational - the technical features, innovations implemented, movement, materials used and the finishing. With the two aspects alone brought to the highest degree of implementation, one can find a number of astonishing pieces with independent watchmakers and with some of the bigger brands. The third dimension which we witnessed with MB&F Only Watch was its deeply emotional side. While there are timepieces that bring up smile - like Alain Silberstein's creations - or some other that can provoke a sense of deep astonishment or delight, we had never observed a watch that would provoke a sense of sadness, stirring deep feeling of sorrow and turning our mood to melancholic state at once. And now, looking at the picture of the watch, it still impacts me in the same way. Wonder if it does the same to you or if you can think up of other timepieces that are three-dimensional to you in this way?
