Fascinating Watches and mostly aesthetic on the balance
I've seen quite a variety of his Observatoire. The balance differences appear to be mostly aesthetic. There are always reasons for changing the cock style other than just for looks though. The material choice is important with regard to vibration, mainspring tension, gear location, etc. but the only tourbillon I've seen him do is with pocket watches.

Yes you can see it better! it is a great view. Kari mentioned that it does not make the watch any more delicate and that the choice to use the traditional style or te Tourbillon style is just personal taste. So far, no one has a better idea of why this is...
