After a long wait, from the auction house to DB to my home, this black beauty has landed. Just a quick shot to share my joy with you all... a more thorow post will follow soon. Cheers, Daniel ...

Wow. Breathtaking.

Tell us more. What does DB do when they get these pieces from the auction house? Repeat quality control?

Thank you for the kind words

It was a NOS piece so not much to do at DB. I needed to replace the lugs to the short ones, that’s the reason I sent it to their atelier. While there, I had the movement checked and lubed just to be safe.

DB has short and long lugs for their DB28 models

I think long is standard but they can be replaced easily by DB (although the cost to do so is not negligible). On my 16.5cm wrist, the short lugs are a perfect fit.

Out of curiosity, what did they charge to switch the lugs?

 By: Jay (Eire) : January 26th, 2021-06:00
I’ve heard people say, no charge as they keep the other set and also others quote thousands of dollars.

In my case

 By: mrds : January 26th, 2021-06:12
the charge was CHF 4500. Maybe it’s due to the zirconia material, which I think they make in much smaller numbers. I don‘t know what the cost is for their Ti models.

I have never seen this one

Love DB as they make such amazing, interesting, unique, and beautiful watches!! I wish i had one but tried a variant of yours at a Bond street boutique in london and fell in love again with it. Here is my future one saying hi ...

Great! Seems to be the exact same version.

This was the first DB, although in an all black variant, I ever managed to see in the metal. I loved it, still do. Please share some more pictures and thoughts once you spend some time with it.

Congratulations!

DB watches are special and unique in their design. I’ve always love their use of the sphere as a moon.

Just as I was admiring the beautiful moon shot on your Lange 1 🌝😄

Happy you also like this 3D version!

That is pure awesomeness.

I will admit, I have never seriously considered purchasing a watch from this brand. Your photos make we want to reconsider! Congratulations, Sir!

I am happy if I could raise your interest

As for me, I am a DB fanboy since I have seen a DBS more than 10 years ago. It was way out of my reach financially but if it hadn’t been, I’d bought one years ago. To me, DB is not only one of the most innovative watch makers around, they blend it with ou...

You have, for sure.

I think this precise version is spectacular, and look forward to your coming posts with more detail

A work of Art

This DB was on my wish list for so long... Now that it’s on my wrist it’s truly special! I would have loved to be on that tour, by the way. Hope that some day I will be able to tour their atelier.

Fantastic catch!

My first DB and could as well be my last, for it distills everything that I admire about the brand in one beautiful piece of machinery.

Thank you Sir!
