pplater,
I'm trying to translate previous opinions in this thread.
I think the issue is not 'price' as in currency, to express 'value', which was the original query term in the first posting.
When we try to value a watch, we us different units of measurement.....patrimony, nostalgia, form, function, construction, innovation, material, relationships, etc. We try to do a pro vs con equation in our heads.
Then, we complicate it by trying to unify our values into a commonly expresed but poorly understood unit -- we usually use a currency value. e.g. "I would pay $5000 for watch X but not more. If I got it for less, my increment in satisfaction would be directly proportional to the decrement in $ that I use".
That is why we minimise $ £ ¥ € discussions on PuristSPro....if possible.
I measure value in number of children's limbs I would give up.
Seriously, I meant the number of times I would have to take out the trash to appease the current Mrs MTF.
PROPOSAL: Instead of money, we shall henceforth assign a PuristSPro value to watches for easy and universal understanding. it shall be called the PPLU -- PuristSPro Love Unit. There will be a single PPro Bank Reserve Rate set and no healthcare project. The scale will be simple at first: -5 to +5 with 0 being the level of non-flaming and allowed in our entrance lobby.
+5 PPLU gets you one of these.....

Regards,
MTF
