the iwc team rolled out all stops to make the themed evening a most memorable and fun one, as we left boston in 1868 to the swiss german border to make watches with 'good, solid craftsmanship from schaffhausen' - probus scafusia, the iwc mantra/logo!
everyone had his/her ow favorite vintage reissue, perhaps the only one that seemed a bit neglected was the aquatimer. the steel pilot was much nicer in the metal for me, the platinum portofino and the steel da vinci being the other standouts. i was looking forward to seeing the ingenieur as well, and the pt version was beautiful with hints of the 5107 or GS , depending on who you talk to.
in addition to the vintage collection, we got to see/touch/play with the new ceramic pilot chrono, which did not seem that large even though it was 44mm. also present were the new steel kurt klaus perpertual chrono da vinci, as captured by ralph; father and son big pilots; pg ingenieur 7day etc.
there were also individual and table contests separated the real iwc afficiondos from the mere mortals. thank you to andreas connie, vivian and mike for a fun evening.
