Jaquet Droz Perpetual Calendar Black Enamel
Been seriously watch collecting for about 3 years.
And so it is always exciting to stumble on something new and less well recognized.
I would describe Jaquet Droz as a niche micro-band under the Swatch umbrella. Have some very ornate artistic pieces but also great enamel work.
First watch with an enamel dial. 18K white gold case at 43 mm in diameter (i tend to be biased to watch sizes). Automatic with 68 hour power reserve.
Movement derived from a Frederic Piguet base which is now part of Blancpain.
Symmetric yet classic styling. Usually prefer something more modern but this is an interesting mix of old and new with the serpentine and lancet style hands..

JD is a brand with a true identity and easily recognisable. It has a lot of elegance with a little Dandy style in my opinion. I just regret a too big diameter sometimes (43mm as you mentioned) for a dressy timepiece

Jacquet Droz has some spectacular handcraft pieces, such as the " Petite Heure Minute Paillonnee". Enjoy your timepiece ! Cheers, Gordon
