H.M. The Queen's wrist watches over the years

May 09, 2018,11:48 AM

H.M.The Queen Elizabeth II wore a diamond bracelet watch to the coronation.

It had a JLC 101 (Duoplan) movement inside.

It was lost in a park and the British Army sent troops to conduct a fingertip search to no avail.

This is the reproduction now with as JLC logo added.

Reproduction watch of H.M. The Queen

Over the years, H.M.The Queen has worn Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso, Patek Philippe Golden Ellipse and an Audemars Piguet watch.

Great recent picture of our aged 92 Queen relaxing at a riding event. Can the experts here identify the gold rectangular watch she wears please? Hope this does not break any Purists rules. Best, Clive From Daily Mail newspaper ...

HM Treasury didn't respond? Just kidding. [nt]

Calling the experts

Come on experts. At her coronation in 1953 I understand JLC gave HM Queen a calibre 101 watch. That is not the one worn here. I think the one she is wearing has a date at 6. Maybe it's quartz! Maybe there should be a prize for the correct answer. Best, Cl...

The theme of this thread AFAIK was identifying watches the Queen is pictured wearing. "Proud Possession Of Royalty Since 1755" was V&C's motto for much of the 1950s and 60s. That advertisement shows this piece: Which housed a movement based on LeCoult...

With approximately 2,999 other guests I have been invited for tea at Buckingham Palace garden on Tuesday, so will keep my eyes open. I don't expect to be close enough to see HM's wrist, but one never knows! Discretion is the priority of course. Best, Cliv...
