What would your collection look like if you limit yourself to 5 watches?

 By: datograph : October 27th, 2018-01:05
Say you're willing to spend (grey or list) up to 50,000 € per watch but not more than 125,000 € for the whole collection. You limit yourself down to five watches and want variety, so you pick one watch from each brand and a maximum of two from each catego...

I simply cant [nt]

Maybe 10

Well then tell me. :)

 By: datograph : October 27th, 2018-02:56
I'm curious.

What are the two? [nt]

 By: cory : October 27th, 2018-01:28

That’s well above 125, 000 Euros!? [nt]

 By: cory : October 27th, 2018-11:04
But so worth every penny!

It's not about having the perfect collection...

 By: datograph : October 27th, 2018-02:49
...it's more about how your collection would look like if you love watches but simply can't build your perfect collection.

No, no, no...

Please with similar budget and name the models, please.

Given there was no budget...

Curious as to what GC you would choose for your dream collection.

My picks

 By: Thomahof : October 27th, 2018-01:38
5960A, 5170P, Daytona.

GO split second, Patek 5140 in J, Rolex GMT SARU in YG, VC Traditionelle Small Second in P and a Lange DS

By: COUNT DE MONET : October 27th, 2018-02:11
I know the SARU is an acquired taste but I like it!

Finally someone!

 By: datograph : October 27th, 2018-02:44
Great choices! SARU is indeed for an acquired taste.

I have 5 now.

took a while

That's a very nice collection, you have a lot of variety there even with just 5 watches.

 By: Jay (Eire) : October 27th, 2018-04:54
Discipline is the hardest element of collecting.

For sure

 By: shafran : October 28th, 2018-03:25
I would love to add a patek 5167, but alas, no funds and not easy to get.

i've put exactly this limit for my collection...

 By: mahesh : October 27th, 2018-02:41
i'm slowly working towards that, i'll retain one from what i've today & letting go with few and add (which is the difficulty)... my final 5 would be, 1) JLC Reverso Q3908420 2) Laurent Ferrier Galet Square Blue dial 3) Patek 5711 blue dial (only if i ...

This looks great. Definitely an insane Quintuple!

 By: datograph : October 27th, 2018-02:59
Wish you all the best to get you there!

Thanks !

 By: mahesh : October 27th, 2018-04:44
1,2,3 are secured but the remaining two are a daunting task ;-) Best, mahesh.,

Very similar to my budget

“maximum of two from each category” Anyway, interesting choices.

5 is not enough.

I'd struggle with sticking with just 5

 By: jml_watches : October 27th, 2018-04:12
Hi Think as with most here I'd struggle with just five watches. Especially as sometimes the fun is in the chase & that once I've got a watch it never leaves. Your budget is way more than my current one - so allows some excess on my part. Choices would inc...

I am actually working towards

My 5 watches within my ‘limited’ budget. Your budget would open a whole new perspective for me and i would not be able to respond in a timely manner. A lange 1815 honey gold 200th ann JLC Reverso 1931 us edition Omega speedy 60th ann Likely Rolex sub no d...

One franchise player and a few in supporting roles

 By: vitalsigns : October 27th, 2018-06:32
Patek 5970G Rolex 5512 or 5513 (bracelet) Omega Speedy pro (strap) JLC Reverso (probably the Duo or Grande Date) I think I could get there at 125K Euro.

5 watches 5 brands max 125K

 By: Jurry : October 27th, 2018-06:36
An interesting challenge I would probably select Vacheron Harmony Complete Calendar Blancpain Bathyscape Chrono Brequet Classique Time only (the one with that white enamel dial) IWC Pilot Mark VIII Le Petit Prince Rolex Explorer To me that’s a well balanc...

Here we go:

The 5

 By: pmh6000 : October 28th, 2018-03:31
Probably my list will change tomorrow but I am a basic guy so here are mine. VC overseas, Breguet 7147, ALS 1815, Rolex GMT and a PP golden ellipse. Nothing exotic but real timepieces.

Very nice choices!

 By: datograph : October 28th, 2018-11:35
Well, the Ellipse is not my taste.

It was not easy..

 By: Echi : October 28th, 2018-23:34
As obviously, i’m one of the last to respond but i play anyway.. PP 5164 Rolex AK 116900 JLC Reverso 1931 Rouge Panerai 201/A UN Freak (1.0) Interesting exercise. Price wasn’t exactly a motivator but more trying to meet the requirements but at the same ti...

Hehe, yes, I was surprised myself when I thought about it..

 By: Echi : October 29th, 2018-05:59
Made me smile actually. I needed Panerai to be nicely represented for some reason.. and something that I can wear all the time and with a bit of pedigree. Easy enough to go with a 127 for example, but I wanted the logo and the T-dial. Arguably THE 44mm Pa...

Impossible for me

 By: nwk00 : October 29th, 2018-00:13
I would just get two and go higher quality watches. 1) Rolex 2) Any good indi or Lange. 3) If you have left over buy a decent vintage, don't go for the current hyped vintages. IMO You spread yourselves too thin with that budget and 5 watches.
