Still don't understand how you read the time

Dec 20, 2013,12:38 PM

Hello Sheyko,

All your CAD images show the different discs at the same position.  So, it's difficult to figure out how it works.

On your site, your have 10 pictures showing exactly the same postion of the platenary gears.

I agree with the other comment that a 29 mm watch is way too small for modern standards. Make it 38 or 39.

Also agree with the crowd-funding option.

Some questions :
 - How do you set the time ? I couldn't see the crown.
 - If I understand correctly, the direction of each of the planetary rings changes. One turns clockwise, the next one counter-clockwise, and so on.
Which would probably make reading of the time difficult.
 - Do you have a video ? Seeing the planetary watch in action would be much better than still pictures.

But very interesting project.

Dear Friends, My name is Sergiy Sheyko. For some years I’ve developed and patented the conception of the planetary quartz and mechanical watches with the next advantages: 1) Especially adapted for jewelry applications, as it could be perfectly decorated b...

Incomplete. It is no wonder a few of us do not know what to make out of it. Perhaps you could at least explain the concept behind your design ? How does this watch indicate time ?

It is very simple :) The watch is presented the nested planetary reducers one satellite on each of them is differently decorated to present concentric (form periphery to center): seconds, minutes, hours and week days. On Fri, Dec 13, 2013 at 3:47 PM,

Apologies if things may be lost in translation... You have conceptualized this watch and want someone to make it for you? So these work in theory or in real life? You have made an image of what you want this watch to look like and asked us for our thought...

I am uncomfortable about the commercial aspects of your post and the links to your website, but the concept is fascinating and PuristS will be interested in the mechanical ideas you are proposing in this watch. I will let the post stand, but please keep t...

Having now had the chance to visit your website and see your images of the mechanical version there is no doubt that the concept is innovative and indeed quite fascinating. The diameter of 29 mm seems very small for a contemporary watch: presumably that d...

The aspect ratios are the commercial choose, if you'll scale them you will in any case get the slimmest movement. On Sat, Dec 14, 2013 at 3:13 AM,

By the diameter of 29 mm the readability of time will not be so complex, as the optical properties of crystal's shine inside the satellites could be extended by the glow, shine etc. what is difficulty represented by the rendering. For the instance, the ha...

My bad. Your videos are on the Quartz page. I think the biggest problem is that it looks like it's not possible to quick change the date. You have to do the full planetary turns to change the date.
