Seeking opinions on the Patek Philippe 5970 WG
Greetings all,
I have a question on behalf of a good friend of mine that I hope you can help with.
He is a long time collector and has several interesting pieces in his collection.
Recently, however, he has become enamoured of the Patek Philippe 5970 in WG. After some searching, he has managed to locate one, and is now in a position to "pull the trigger". The asking price is at list - no discount possible.
Now that he stands on the cusp of the purchase, he is beset with second thoughts and would like some independent reassurance before parting wth his hard-earned.
Is this watch worth the price?
Will it hold its value/appreciate?
How does he efficiently keep it wound and set if wearing it in rotation? Are there different manual watchwinding options?
How does it wear on the wrist? (the example he is considering remains hermetically sealed)
Will servicing be a problematic issue?
I hope these questions are not inappropriate, and serve to stimulate some discussion.
