Let's see some "black" watches.

Do you have one in your collection? Whether it's ceramic, PVD/DLC, forged carbon or even plastic, it would be interesting to see the variety of these 'dark knights'. It may also help me decide on my next piece. Looking forward to seeing your contribution....

Sure, here are mine.

My personal choice - as an owner and wearer - would be the Sarpaneva Korona K0 in a black-diamond case and crown, with a monochrome dial. Or - within a lifetime beyond wealth and stealth - there is his Black Moon. Some women go crazy about it - - - The on...

Thanks, Foversta !

 By: amerix : August 9th, 2012-12:49
That is the version that I actually have and use and wear with pleasure. When everything around me is going astray and it gets dark and gloomy, the K0 gives me the strength, the energy and the courage - perserverance - and even the willpower----for me to ...

Two at both ends of the spectrum...

 By: fernando : August 9th, 2012-23:13
The black Seiko diver I can understand and am familiar with but I did not notice this black skeleton Cartier before. Does it work in a formal occasion? I'm sure it does and would undoubtedly draw admiring glances. :) Would love to see more; any WS? Thanks...

Really like the skeleton Dumont!

Because I didn't feel comfortable to have two Amvox II, with time passing. And because I feel black cases are a bit too trendy for me. Best, Nicolas ...

Thx for sharing the Amvox II Nico.. your loss is someone else's gain ;)

 By: fernando : August 10th, 2012-00:00
I can understand your predisposition with these trendy char-grilled cases but you must admit they do stand out and seem to fit certain pieces. Anyway, I think black objects, whatever they are tend to have a following irrespective of fashion trends. Hope y...

Ooops, I found 3 others I owned.

 By: amanico : August 10th, 2012-00:07
And three perffect counter examples, when black was not a trend... Panerai 5218 - 202/ A, Panerai 5218 - 203 / A and the infamous Panerai Pre V Slytech. Here is one of them, the MM: ...

Maybe it was you who set the trend with your evilish past :)

 By: fernando : August 10th, 2012-00:14
What a superb example of the cool Italian diver watch! You see, there is a justification to go black. F

Well, it was in 1993 / 1994, when black was not a trend.

 By: amanico : August 10th, 2012-00:23
Just a curiosity, like Panerai watches... O tempora, O mores... Best, Nicolas, a bit nostalgic. ;)

Always interesting to see what you have up your sleeve. :) These are rugged pieces you have there, with most of the attributes you would want in a phantom piece. And of course they don't necessitate breaking the bank! :) Cheers fernando

You did not mention rubber ...

 By: Marcus Hanke : August 10th, 2012-04:08
... but I think a rubber-coated black watch is also permitted in this circle: http://un1.watchprosite.com/img/watchprosite/un1/18/scaled/un1_image.2799818.jpg http://un1.watchprosite.com/img/watchprosite/un1/93/scaled/un1_image.2787693.jpg http://un1.watc...

I just love the Insanity. It looks so complex, but reading the time is quite intuitive. Its a watch i would nearly kill for. No need to worry as i use a fast acting poison so you wont feel a thing :-) Best G

The cheap and peppy option.
