Hello all, Can someone help me with identifying exactly which model/name of this Longines watch? I have seen plenty of pics of the vintange Longines Diver watch, but all have two crowns and an internal bezel. The one I have looks almost exactly like it, b...  

the diver is a bit different, a case back photo will be helpful. just wonder, a crown is added without opening the back?

Hello, Thanks. The back of the case is shown in one of the photos under my comments. It has a diver on the back. I didn't understand your comment about the crown. Thanks, Michael

just review the photo showing the diver on the case back, it do not bear a winding crown. How to add a crwon without removing the case back. just wonder the know how?

Yes, it is not possible to install a winding-crown without opening the back-cover. Are the pictures from two different sources?

Thanks. Yes, I accidentally used a photo of the only other one I've found like this, one on eBay that was a non-running one without a crown. That one was in bad shape and sold for $3000. Haven't had back off yet. Mine has the crown, but unfortunately miss... 

It is not easy to scout around for a bezel but do not give up trying. Hunting for one is just like looking for a needle in a hay-stack. (It would be relatively easy for a Rolex.) Bring your watch to a watchmaker and once you have the pictures of the insid...

The vintage Longines divers I've seen with external bezels didn't have dials similar to those found on the super compressor models of the 60s. I wonder if this is an instance of a dial being placed into a different case. Just a reminder that discussions o... 

Sorry about the ref to $$. Really mostly interested in properly identifying watch. There was one just like it that sold recently on ebay, but it was simply referred to as Longines Diver watch (see completed sales on ebay). Incidently, that watch attracted...

If there are "buckloads," do tell where they are. Only one I can find is one on eBay that was a recently sold one that was non-working, corroded and missing the crown--and still sold for close to $3000. Ck it out yourself. Obviously not the most popular g... 

..single crown SCs are available all over the place, the bezeled ones, less so. For obvious reasons people think Super Compressor=twin crown, which is not the case. Hence, the single crown SCs don't seem to be advertised as such. Just look for the distinc...

...it'll take some digging, but as I wrote earlier, the case on your Longines is single crown SC with external bezel.... Like this (Not my watch, not my shirt suff! not my photo...don't know who to credit the photo to)... While the bezel markings are not ...

And that its external bezel would have been more appealing if it had a smooth edge, it is a very nice and original Vintage diving watch. Another interesting alternative to the eternal Rolexes. Best, Nicolas

The eternal Rolexes are virtually on every other person's wrist. However, once in a long while, it is good to see something that is different. Unfortunately, to restore such a rare watch is not an easy task. It is hoped, our good friend would one day post...

Thanks for the reference! I still have the watch and plan to sell it soon (to pay for daughter's braces, sigh). The watch runs incredibly accurate for such an old watch about which I have no idea when it was serviced last. As noted, it is unfornately ...

Thanks for the email. I still have the watch and it keeps great time, but will stop if not worn for more than 12-14 hours (normal for an automatic watch for this short of time?). Still missing the bezel. Hopefully, will not be impossible to find. May sell... 

as BDLJ has said, its quite possibly a super compressor or compressor case, details will probably be inside the caseback which will be a marathon to get to if its a monocoque case. it looks very nice as it is, can it not be cleaned up so that it looks fin...
