From the ground up

Super confusing what is out there on the information. I read that this movement U41 was designed from the ground up. I see it being used in other watches too so does that mean it was originally designed for Angelus and now LJP is reselling that movement to other companies or was it the other way around?

Does Angelus do their own Movements or are they done by La Joux Perret, as it belongs to the same group?

This movement was designed by Sebastien Chaulmontet

He's considered by many as one of the top movement designers out there. My understanding is that Angelus operates independently, producing roughly 60 pieces per year. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Actually I was right - and you too… 👍🏻😃

Yes, that LJP movement watch that Mohanad posted is an awesome project. The U40 Angelus is similar in appearance, but very different in its bridge layout. If you notice, the U40 uses way fewer bridges and the back and front side of the watch are mirror im...

I believe it is the other way round: LJP designs base calibers which then will be adapted to the brands needs…

This makes sense as the core of LJP is movement knowledge. This setup is performed with many other spezialiced „manufactures“…
