Fascinating insight by a former oarsman into a spectacle that I have watched since 1977

Andrew H,

Boy! Do I feel old stating those words? "Since 1977".

I missed out on going up to Cambridge but I have a distant affiliation.  My father's cousin was a Don and I used to go to Cambridge for the school holidays.

Weeks of fun wandering the cobble stones, colleges and museums as well as seeing the view of Kings College from the river that appeared on the cover of my schoolboy logarithmic tables book.

So, I support Cambridge.   "I have a Cambridge tie."

Why were you at Cambridge?

"I was buying a tie! "  smile

Seriously, thanks for the insight into the preparations for the Race from an oarsman's point of view.

There is a precision analogous to watchmaking as described by Parmigiani.

Now, if someone could only explain why the Cambridge "light blue" that I remember has morphed into this weird green hue?

Regards,

MTF
