Personally, I have a soft spot for the Cellini. A very underrated piece, and definitely offers an interesting value proposition in the secondary market considering the pieces of used stainless steel sports Rolexes these days!

But I’m adding the crowns of the 4 brands. Which crowns do you like and what features on the crown do you prefer, name, logo or precious stones? Our Indie collector mj23 mentioned exquisite work and his good example is from Vianney Halter, which is hard t...

Lovely selection. For me, the functionality of the crown is of the utmost importance; ease of grip, smoothness of winding, smoothness and tightness of screw down (if applicable) is more important than aesthetics

That is a good point too…

Some models’ crown may be too small and makes it difficult to wind, while some is even hard to pull out with finger nails. I feel both are essential in the design of a watch, practicality and aesthetics.

Great selection as always, C_C

Regarding crowns, was setting my Odysseus the other day and I was thinking the crown seems to be the same size as the Lange1. My initial thought was maybe it should be slightly larger but, that would probably throw off the balance with the integrated push...

I have similar thoughts about the Odysseus crown as well…

A little small to wind as compared to the watch. I don’t know how it will look if it’s bigger, but like you mentioned, maybe it will disrupt the design. I do think slightly bigger does no harm and make it look more robust.

Sometimes I find it hard to pull the crown too, especially for my Speedmaster with 9300 movement.

There are also some manual wind watches that I hard to unwind a little then the crown can be pulled easier, I wonder why?

That's good to know. Thank you.
