Why can I not paste something to create a new post??

Sent an email to a friend and wanted to share it with the forum. When I go to create a new post I can't paste the email into the body of the new post after copying it from the sent email.

Why not add it as a photo ?

As an alternative.

There is a paste option on the toolbar for new posts, when you click on it nothing happens. [nt]
