Vintage HF/Au
18k gold HF Chronometer; 34mm (wears larger);
substantial case (net 22.7 grams / .8 oz); cal. 42x (second generation HF
movement, first produced in 1968, and introduced a hacking function to the HF
line). Relatively few were produced in gold cases, and the bezel and textured
dial seen on this example are quite uncommon. These HF Chronometers were/are
extremely accurate (73% of the chronometers certified by the Neuchâtel
Observatory in 1967 were Gyromatic HF), but also tricky to service
properly.
Cheers,
Tony C.
