I brought the watch to my AD and though the strap wasn't under warranty they repaired it. They did a great job (you would never know it was repaired) and didn't charge me. As I said before, the strap had separated between the top black fabric and the red backing. The stitching is only for decoration and does not go all the way through. The watchmaker at the dealer was surprised at this but said he'd never seen one separate before (they are located in Los Angeles and do a pretty brisk business).
I did purchase the rubber strap as a backup. I wasn't sure I'd like it at first but now that I have it on, I think I like it as much as the trieste.

i think the irony here is that the strap is supposed to be more durable than a regular leather strap, as far as i understand. on the other hand, perhaps we are just two outliers in an otherwise solid performing strap.

As someone who is giving serious consideration to purchasing this strap for my Sport Evo GMT, I have to say that I'm not encouraged by this thread. GO isn't exactly giving this strap away, you know, so I find it sort of disappointing to hear that they won...
