I love the 'long time' indicators, I find something philosophical in them....
We don't usually think of it in too much detail, but:
1. Seconds hands, 1 min/rotation
2. Minutes hands, 1 hr/rotation
3. Hour indicator, 12hrs/rotation
4. Month indicator, 28/29/30/31 days per 'rotation' or change in indication
5. Year indicator, 1 yr until change
and finally..
6. Leap Year indicator.... 4 yrs for one rotation of the indicator dial!!! Once it has gone, you know it will be 4yrs until it returns - How much the world/you will change by the time the indicator comes around again!!
I find a real charm in the leap year indicator, and how slowly it rotates!

Yes, the one from 2012.
A four-color dot indicates the year, similar to the models that preceded it. Red indicates leap year.
