Hi Trond,
the Sea Hawk Pro measures whopping 45mm (of which i?m sure), with a case of about 15mm height (will have to check).
There?s some more informations to come, just in short:
To my knowledge, the Pro will not come in a John Harrison version and only be available in Titanium. Any other material most probably will result in a watch far too heavy for normal wear; that baby is a HUGE thing and even if it comes in the light Titanium, it?s really heavy on the wrist. The domed sapphire crystal itself measures about 6mm in thickness; that?s some serious weight in itself.
The thick and domed crystal results in some magnification on pictures; actually the hands are not that much larger than the regular version. But it?s a completely different appearance, though.
Based on my preliminary informations so far, it will be more expensive than the Sea Hawk II; the incredible depth rate requires some serious engineering and meticulous work to build them. If you look at the picture in this thread, you will see the back is no longer attached by screws but is screwed into the case. Only a detail, but it shows this piece required completely rework in all aspects.
The Pro is a really serious piece...
As to the delivery, my information so far is it will be available from summer.
But best thing to do is to check back with your local GP retailer or the GP Agent for your region.
The reference code for the Sea Hawk Pro is 49940, so you should be able to ask specifically for them. There will be a version with the improved new rubber strap (with a very easy-to-use extension piece for diving) and a Titanium bracelet.
My advice would be to check back with your retailer soon; due to the required work to make them, i?m pretty confident there will not be too many Pro?s around. It?s a really serious piece and as usual for GP, the high quality results in a limited production.
More to come; i?ll include at least some more pictures with the coverage of all GP news in 2004!
Greetings from germany,
Peter
