The new Sports Chronograph - update & correction

 

G'day,

the "sports chronograph"

is for sure a very unique piece and does have a somewhat unique and special name:

reference 49930 - "R&D 1"

Not that i think there?s an inflation of abbreviations instead of names, but there?s no shortage of them (V4, Z1,...).
Therefore, the full name is - no surprise here - "Research & Development 1", which may give a hint this is 1) the first one of it?s kind and b) it?s an development of what?s in the stable so far (in this case, the Sea Hawk II design).

And i have to correct the informations so far:
The size equals the Sea Hawk II; it?s a 43mm watch and the additional "pin" on the right side is not a helium escape valve, but a quickset pusher for the date (unlike the Laureato Evo 3, which comes with a sunken pusher between 10 and 11).
The water resistance of this watch is 30m, which is a tribute to the crystal back.

And the more often i see the pictures of the new carbon dials, the more i fall in love with them. All the pictures so far hardly catch the special shine and reflections of this material, as well as the luminous numerals. It?s so much nicer in nature, be it the new WW.TC variant or here the R&D1.

As to availability and delivery schedules: The first pieces may be available towards the end of the year.
