Some info on Resonance versions

This message is for cpz. I cannot reply to your email because it keeps saying that there is spam blocking no matter what I put in the message, so here is what I was sending you:

I read your very interesting post about 4 generation of PG/YG dial for the tourbillon.
I was wondering if its the same story with the PG/YG Resonance, 38 mm, i.e if depending of the generation the yellow dial looks very different.

With the Resonance there were more subtle changes, but the dial was pretty much the same over time. The main difference in the dial was the shade and "shininess" of the yellow. The older dials were more deep yellow and more shiny. The next generation was more beige and slightly less shiny. The next generation was beige/yellow and more matte. Otherwise most changes were in the movement.

This photo is of the Resonance prototype which appeared at Antiquorum. The photo is not so good, but you can see that the power reserve numbers were already big and the screws on the dial were already the small ones. The big difference is in the back. You can see the movement has blued screws. I think that was changed before production to regular white screws, otherwise there may be a few early samples with blued screws. You can't see this, but at that time the movement had very little or no anglage on the edges. It was only later that it started looking nicer. You can also see from the photo that the screws in the case back were regular slot screws, not the Journe-style screws. However, if you ever find an older watch with those screws, when you send it for service they will be replaced with the Journe screws.

Regards,
Felipe
