LOL, long story actually. Black labels are very difficult to come by nowadays and regrettably I could have ordered an Optimum Black Label and/or a custom stone dial (Jade, Black MOP, Ruby, etc...) end of 2018...

but sadly chose another watch at the time.

We live and learn. I am usually a white metal person and the majority of my collection would reflect that but since lovely Octa UTC Black Label was offered to me by a good friend and collector. He originally offered it to me prior but since I never tried it on, I didn't think I would get along with the RG case so did not really think about it further. FPJ produces very few watches per year, around 900 from what I was told. Black Label models are even more rare as there are only 2 Black Label models produced for each reference per year if requested. I had that in the back of my mind but still I was focused on the RG case. Had It been a PT case, it would have been a no brainer for me and I would have jumped on it immediately. To my surprise, the next time I saw him, he had it with him and I got a chance to try it on.

All I can say is that I really loved the complication and the dial. I didn't notice the RG case as much as I would have thought so I pulled the trigger.

So strange and as stated, unexpected as I always thought my next FPJ piece would be an Optimum in some variant and possibly a new Resonance in the future if I was able to order one or was offered one.

Sometimes life is full of surprises but I guess that is what makes it fun and interesting as well 😊😀😜
