Who are you trying to fool?

I trust them.

First the Elegante was rejected as a quartz watch. Then People understood that it is a pretty groundbreaking and innovative piece. then they tried it and realized how extremely comfortable it is, being very light and ergonomically shaped on the case back.... 

I also think the simple fact that the Titalyte case and colourful strap options has been a real eye catcher on social media, I’m sure that’s driven a lot of purchases.

I searched it and eventually found the article I think you’re referring to—man, what an endorsement!

Don't get me wrong, I love FPJ, but when I see this hauled as innovative I honestly don't get which part. Seiko premier line and some Citizen watches have done this power conservation tech a long time ago. So is there another feature I'm missing?

This happens when the market identifies a brand as speculatively interesting. Since the production of Journe is much lower than Rolex and Patek, it is normal than the interest extends to every model, especially the entry level.

There certainly has to be some element of speculation driving prices right now.

So few also makes it an easy target for speculation.

Although the big move is being driven by a particular dealer supported by an investment fund, they purchased all secondary stock 2 years ago amd dried the market, they still have a good part in stock.

They haven’t been shy about their strategy and acquisition targets lately.

I appreciate the global demand but, to me, it's just a glorified quartz watch. A couple of boutiques had previously pushed purchases from this line, in order to get priority for hot pieces. It is FPJ's new "cash flow" piece, and boy is that company haulin...
