Your view on "downsizing"
Friends,
as my 5130G and I are probably not becoming friends for life, I am seriously thinking about getting a 5110R (which I always wanted). And a 5196G (which I also always wanted). Keeping the 5130G and "see whether I might like her eventually" does not work for financial reasons.
Have you ever "downgraded" from a more expensive/newer/more complex model to the previous one?
(To be honest, I could live with the 5196G alone. Ever anyone done that kind of extreme downsizing? For me it is not about complications, image or price, only about looks.)

I had a 5130P......i sold it because, like you, i wasn't getting on with the 5130
I bought a 5110.....have had that for many years of pleasure now. Go with what you like on your wrist.....life is too short.... what you have on your wrist should be about giving you pleasure.
I would do it. I had both the 5130G and the 5110P.

at the end of the day, if you don't draw any pleasure by wearing a watch it is better to let it go ! it not only helps you but also someone gets the watch that he/she was looking for !! thats IMHO. Best, mahesh.,
I am also thinking about selling my 5130g and buying a 5110p.

I had the 5130G sold it and bought it again a month later. I think knew it was the watch I wanted. My 5930 is in a different league but I. Oils be tempted by a 5130P
G vs. R
I think my "R" would be the 5110....the proportions are so much better. But how would it work? Sell the 5130 privately? I somehow feel that if I part-exchange the 5130G against a 5110R at a dealer (in Southern Germany there is one who has a R) I might get...
I haven't downgraded (yet).
But I must admit that I sometimes prefer an older model much more than I do a current collection model. SeaDweller and Submariner is for instance one example. The VC Les Historiques and the current CdV is another example. However, I definitely prefer 5130...
Done it myself many times over the last. 25 years.
And whilst maybe financially it wasn\'t 100% the right move it was 100% the right move for me and my heart and eyes. Always go with Gut feelings that way it will always be the right one for you. Good luck. M
I am beginning to appreciate my 5130g , its very legible.
You could tell time easily. So to down size to a 5110g is not what i would do. I accept my fate. Ill just buy a simple nautilus or aquanut in the near future. As i said in a previous post the 5130g is a good world time. Cheers friends. Geross. ...

...that is not my primary reson for loving watches. Somehow the 5130 has the wrong proportions, too "modern". THe 5110 is delicate. PP style at its best. Also I know now what else is wrong. The desk rat that I am I spend most of the day in artificial ligh...
I would not regard such a change as a "downsizing" as well. If you like the beauty of the 5110 more, then I would go for it.
Even though I really like the 5110 I strongly prefer the 5130 with its more contemporary size. I love the case design of the 5130 and ist great legibility. And, as always, I prefer watches with a little bit bigger size due to my body height and big wrist/...
