I'm an unconditional lover of the Bumper. Now, I heard that it was less reliable than the later rotor. I checked on mines, and I didn't notice any kind of problem. Best, Nicolas

Sure, the accuracy of the Cal 825 18800 vph might be less than the Cal 916 28800 vph. In that case quartz might be the solution… But where is the charm? Of course some of the old Quartz do have some charm, but not as charming as an old mechanic…! IMO. Bes...  

Yes, the 916 looks more accurate, but amybe a bumper is more fragile than a conventional rotor? Will have to find where I read some technical explanations. Will be back to you soon, I hope. Best, Nicolas

....fragile on JLCs or fragile in general? I recall reading concerns with the bumper springs breaking on these movements but never experienced any, and concerns with winding efficiency, but also never experienced any issues keeping mine wound. I might be ...

...well, I've just got off the phone with my watchrepairer. For some background, his bench is littered (perhaps the wrong word) with vintage Omegas, Rolexes, 5100's, etc etc... His response was close to what I expected, in that: Bumper movements were made...

Tribute To Polaris... I would love to have a Bumper in it! But the Cal 956 has a lot of pros, like he quick set of the date, a nice alarm sound, and a top reliable movement. Best, Hermano! Nico

... i do not have Cal. 481 in my collection yet, but i do have few vintage Omega watches with bumper winding movement, it is really interesting, they are turning very loud, you can feel the bumper vibrating on your wrist! stefan
