I had the chance to take a look at a good friends Certina DS-2 and while it is not extremely thick at 12mm it is quite a chunky boy compared to a Universal Geneve "Carree" at under 6mm. It appears like "a touch of nothing" next to it.

Exactly! Does not seem like much, but
on a wristwatch it does make a difference. That is why now thickness plays just as much as a role in deciding fit as well as case size. Thanks for sharing! - Sebastian
