This old Bleu thing.
The hands on the CB are something I’ve heard many people have strong negative opinions about. Those opinions usually address both the style/shape and the fact that this design is not original (borrowed or copied) and also that the colour is off putting or not correct for the dial.
The hands are actually one of my favourite of any watch, both the style and that off white colour.

You make an honest point about the hands...
When we have paid for a watch, none of us enjoy criticism about our beloved piece. Some of the best designs take time to mature in the eyes of some people. Personally I view the overall design and not a single feature and love the watch.
For sure it’s not nice to hear criticism, especially if you’ve just plonked down a serious amount of hard earned cash. But, if it’s well intended and delivered in the right way I kinda like to hear it.
I agree in terms of time being required, we’ve seen it again and again in our little world of watches but it’s also true everywhere else. I would be like you most of this time, looking at the overall design. But somethings little features get stuck in you...

I think they were the first thing that really captured me too. And I think the CB hands, and all the creamy white hands, work best.
Years ago, when I was into bigger watches, I almost bought a Ikepod. Marc Newson captured a very similar hand design as the central seconds hand in his earlier designs (mid-90’s) and then for all hands in later designs. Search for Seaslug or Hemipode. Tho...

I have always admired Marc Newson as a designer and I loved the watches. I would be quite concerned about service though. Still. I can find several I think are still cool. As you say, the design has lasting qualities, despite its very significant style.
