maybe you have wondered what the full Reference number of a GP can tell us. From the early 90ies till the mid/late 00ies, GP used a very simple numerical code system for its full Reference number, denoting the model, the case/bracelet material and the dial version.

And this is how it works:

So here is an example:

Ref 25990: Vintage 45 Chronograph

Leather strap: 0

Yellow Gold: 51

Dial version 1161 (white Guilloche dial)

Towards the end of the 00ies, GP made some modification introducing an alphanumeric system. Will try to post something on that in the future.
