Horological Meandering

The Bathy V2 from Favre-Leuba

I had the chance to meet last friday in a shop in Paris Mr Clement Brunet-Moret, CEO of Favre-Leuba during a cocktail.

This cocktail gave me the opportunity to browse the whole FL collection.

I already presented you the Mercury collection.

So I will dedicate this post to 2 other watches.

The first one is the Bathy V2. V2 because a Bathy was released by FL in 1966.

It features like the old version a depth gauge.

It's a huge and thick watch entirely focussed in this main function: a diver watch.

The bezel and dial are very readable. No risk to be confused by the hands:

The base of the caliber is an old FL movement.

Despite its size, the watch is very comfortable:

You can see that the finishings on the case and on the anti-reflective convex glass are excellent:

I really think this  watch brings something original in the very large market of the diver watches. The finishings, its readability, the depth gauge make it  very interesting. But I must confess it's quite difficult to wear it outside the water.

The other watch was a beautiful 5hz watch.

FL was, with GP, one of the pioneers of the high frequency calibers.

This watch features an old 5hz FL caliber. The case, the design are modernized with success:

The good idea is the half-squeletonized dial.

The decoration of the caliber is basic but it's not a trouble here: it gives a "technical touch" to the caliber.

Again, this watch is comfortable and it's a pleasure to wear it.

I would like to thank Mr Clément Brunet-Moret for the time he spent with, for his availability and of course for these two novelties.
