Hi folks, this is my first post and I would like to say that this forum has been a pleasure to read, I think this is a wonderful asset. I have been collecting for just over a year
and I have finally decided that I like the vintage Omega auto's the best. I have only purchased a few but I'm actively hunting! My question for today is can anyone please tell
me what the general thickness of the "gold-capped" stainless Omega model's are? From what I have read in descriptions a very thick gold-plate is 80 microns, so I want
to know how much thicker this capping is. Does Omega have a standard thickness? I would imagine that with their quality-control and such that they would keep it pretty
uniform. Thanks for many hours of very insightful reading and thought!..... Jim
