Skeleton Manufacture
Had my first look at the new Skeleton Manufacture with it's in house movement and tourbillon. Magnificent!!!
The cage and the wheels for the escapement appear to be made of silicon.
My questions are: Is this the first tourbillon cage made of silicon?
It is interesting the the front side of the cage is blue while the back is white. Aside from esthetics, is there any reason for that?

The official informations we got, when the Watch was released, was that the balance spring, the anchor and the escapement wheel of the flying tourbillon are made of silicon. Not a word from UN about a silicon cage. We'll have to investigate. Like you, I a...
They have a skeleton without tourbillon, but I find it a bit too " baroque ".

I've seen the press but looking at the piece in the metal it doesn't look like a typical
cage - especially with the two colored cage. Let me know what you find out please. Mitch

I believe De Bethune was there first with a silicon cage.....the 2 brands are pioneers in silicon usage in watches...and guess I love them both! This watch is really tempting...indeed. Lets see.... Mo
