SJE093 has landed . . .
I’ve been hemming and hawing since I became aware of this latest 62MAS recreation by Seiko:
After researching Seiko’s site, I discovered there was an AD I never knew existed. Well, I decided to pay them a visit this afternoon. Upon my arrival, I immediately went to their Seiko display cases and didn’t see one. The sales lady approached asking if she could assist me. I responded, “Well, please don’t laugh. I may be too late to the party. But I was wondering if you have the new SJE093?” After looking in the system, she stated, “We have one.”
Needless to say, it didn’t take me very long to pull out the plastic!
I missed out of the previous re-edition, the SLA017, which was released back in 2017. Unlike the SLA017, there is no bracelet include with the SJE093. You have a black silicone, Tropic-style, strap, which is quite long in typical Seiko fashion:
Love how the box-shaped crystal gives this “distorted” look to the dial:
Apologies if this upsets those of you who were fortunate in obtaining the SLA017. Honestly, I’m not sure how I would feel. But I’m grateful to have been provided another opportunity to finally own a 62MAS re-edition!

As a recent SLA017 owner, I am happy this watch exists. I am tempted to pick it up in blue dial if they ever do such an edition. It is just such a gorgeous design at 40mm or at 38mm, you cannot go wrong! Great pictures and you prove why it is always worth...
