Six simple ideas for next release
1. Modify the 5236 to have an instantaneous calendar change.
2. Release a digital hour indication based 6119 as a revival of the 3969, but in round case.
3. Evolve a few models to incorporate zero-reset seconds for time setting ( when crown is pulled)
4. In higher complications, incorporate the feature where the seconds hand comes to a stop at 60 mark when the power reserve is about to deplete fully.
5. Create a tourbillon stop function ( I believe that currently only A.Lange & Sohne offers this in the Cabaret Tourbillon)
6. Introduce a retrograde seconds display model
And lastly : return to hand-finishing all models.

Hand finishing 50,000+ watches a year?
How are they supposed to justify such thing? All in all they’re still an enterprise that’s seeking maximum profits. And where do they take the talent from that is needed to accomplish this with low deviation in quality at such output?
One could make the argument...
...that to maximize profits they shouldn't hand-finish any watch and just keep charging the same price based on the complications. It seems that someone paying $60k or so for a 'basic' Patek would at least be entitled to have someone grind the machine mar...

Honestly though, I thought Patek's new releases were great. Very glad to see the Calatrava revamped, and the new manual movement looks gorgeous!
Just to add some context, since you already mentioned in another thread you’d expect entry-level Pateks to be hand finished...so it’s just possible you’re not aware of the volume of production.
These figures may not be well known to everyone, but in 2019 Patek produced 62k watches (including 47k automatic, 8k manual, and 7k quartz for Ladies). I don’t have the official numbers for 2020 yet, but I heard we are around 53k because of the lockdowns....

For entry level Pateks, which are machine finished, the brand should charge lower prices befitting the lower level of workmanship or lack of artisanal inputs. Become like Rolex and price it accordingly? Would that not be a fair ask? If i were to look at Q...
Alright, I think I disagree also on the business model of decreasing prices ;-)) Let me conclude by saying there's nothing inherently "fair" or "unfair" in watch prices -- it's called market, and it's been working amazingly well for Patek ;-)
You see how much Patek, Parmigiani, or any other brand charge for a given watch, and then freely decide whether or not you want that watch. I don't see anything unexpected with a $29k MSRP for the new 6119, given how much the rest of the collection is val...

Why do you want this? I can't stand this approach because let's say you have set your minute hand so that it is exactly over the minute marker when the second hand is at the 60 second mark. Then, let's say you pull the crown to stop the seconds at the 30 ...
if you want accurate setting, the zero rest is the way
Pull crown to reset seconds hand to 60 ( zero). Set minute to the exact mark. Push crown in when desired quartz/atomic clock time is reached. Lange Sax-0-Mat is a great example . Videos can be seen for understanding the functionality.
